CHESTFIELD GOLF CLUB
Practice Facilities
At Chestfield we are a very friendly, but competitive club where there are numerous opportunities for players to play competitive rounds, to hopefully lower their handicaps, every week. To that end practise and the facilities for doing so are incredibly important. We have made strides in the last few years, with the help of Head Professional Warren Bennett, to improve these so that we offer players the chance to hone all aspects of their game
PUTTING GREEN
Our putting green is of the same high standard that you will find on the course, something Chestfield is now well known for. Situated immediately outside the clubhouse it is somewhere you can spend important time either warming up for your round or developing your putting skills.
Covered pactice bays and grass teeing ground gives our members a perfect oppotunity to work on their game.
CHIPPING GREEN & PRACTICE BUNKER
To continue your short game improvements we also offer a dedicated chipping and bunker play area. This gives you the opportunity to hit all manner of short game shots to a proper green. Two bunkers offer you a number of different bunker situations and the contoured green means you can develop different chips and pitches to different flags. Undoubtedly an area we should all be spending time at!
Our 2nd practice area is beside the 13th hole. This is a members only range and you will need a key fob to gain entry
We also offer two different full swing areas: The first is situated to the left of the 1st hole and is also our main teaching area. It has covered bays with all-weather mats that can be used by members at any time as well as our teaching professionals. This is of limited length so it is for iron play only up to around 150 yards. It is, however, perfect for winter practise or warming up and for sharpening your short irons. Next to this covered area is also a warm-up net for players about to go out onto the course who don’t want to have to retrieve balls as you do on the practise area. The second area can be driven to as it is next to the 13th hole, which has a car park. This is much longer so woods can be used and has flags at 50 yard intervals for accurate clubbing work.
