Changes have been made to the original design of the course over the years with the most recent arising from the rerouting of the A299 Thanet Way. The new layout, designed by the internationally renowned golf architect Donald Steel and comprising six new greens, was opened in June 2000. It is generally agreed that the improved layout, which has an SSS of 70 for men and 72 for ladies, is an excellent test of golf. It retains the historic character of Chestfield, undulating fairways and greens and magnificent views, while incorporating modern design features and materials.
Chestfield hosted the Kent County Championship in 1993 and more recently the Kent County Junior Championship in 2007.
What makes Chestfield so unique is the popular weekend competitions that run every Sunday morning and most Saturdays.
Course Overview Memberships
At Chestfield we are a very friendly, but competitive club where there are numerous opportunities for players to play competitive rounds, to hopefully lower their handicaps, every week.
